Born in Gainesville Florida and growing up in the midwest, Kendra's talents centered around music, dance, and drama. It wasn't until after she started a family did she begin to explore drawing, painting and sculpture. Today she is a proclaimed self-taught painter who specializes in flora and fauna. She also embraces abstract painting inspired by her family and the colors found in nature. With her camara, pencils, and paints always within reach, she watches for just the right subject to convey the beauty and spirit of nature she so loves. Kendra beleives that in our busy lives we often overlook the amazing miracles of nature that she finds so inspiring. For her, this inspiration connects us with nature on a spiritual level which she conveys through her painting for the veiwer to experience. She beleives that to show her subjects up close, or to show just a portion of it, the veiwer can become more intimate with nature, and respect and appreciate the simple beauty it holds. Kendra beleives all of nature is a gift offered to sustain us. Her beautiful acrylic and watercolor paintings celebrate this idea.
